Day 1: Arusha – Serengeti National Park (The Big Adventure Begins!)

Morning (around 8:00 AM): Your private safari adventure starts now! Your friendly, expert guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or from Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). After a quick chat about the trip, we start our beautiful drive to the amazing Serengeti National Park.

On The Way: Enjoy watching the views change as we drive. You will see villages where people live and farms where they grow coffee. We will stop for a short time at the gate of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area to sign in. If you like, you can also stop at a place with a great view.

Lunch: We will give you a tasty picnic lunch to eat on the way, or you can eat when we get to your place in the Serengeti.

Afternoon: Start your exciting first game drive in the Serengeti! We will drive around the huge plains. The Seronera Valley in the middle of Serengeti is famous for having many lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Keep your eyes open for these big cats and all the other animals on the plains.

Evening: We will arrive at the Serengeti place you chose to stay. You will have dinner and sleep here.

Day 2: Full Day Animal Watching in Serengeti OR Serengeti to Ngorongoro Edge

Option A: Full Day in the Serengeti

• Morning & Afternoon: After an early breakfast, you will spend the whole day looking for animals in different parts of the Serengeti. Your guide will try to find the Great Migration herds if it is that time of year (these big groups of animals move around, so their place changes). We will look for the Big Five and enjoy the amazing size of the Serengeti. You will see so much!
• Lunch: You can have a picnic lunch out in the wild or go back to your lodge/camp to eat.
• Evening: Dinner and sleep again in the Serengeti.

Option B: Morning Serengeti Game Drive – Then Drive to Ngorongoro Area

• Morning: Enjoy one last great morning game drive in the Serengeti. Maybe we can explore a new part.
• Lunch: We will have lunch in the Serengeti.
• Afternoon: After lunch, we start our beautiful drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. We will drive up to the edge of the amazing Ngorongoro Crater. The views from up here are wonderful!
• Evening: We will check into your lodge/camp. It will be on or near the crater edge. You will have dinner and sleep here, ready to go down into the crater early tomorrow.

Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater Tour – Drive Back to Arusha

Morning (around 6:30 AM): After an early breakfast, we will drive down more than 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater. This morning will be full of amazing animal sightings! This special crater, a famous world site, has so many animals in one place. It is truly special.

Inside the Crater: You will likely see big groups of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles. You will also see elephants and have a very good chance to see the rare black rhino. The crater also has many lions, hyenas, and pretty flamingos on the lake.

Lunch: We will have a nice picnic lunch near a pool where hippos live, right inside the crater.

Afternoon: After lunch, we will start driving up and out of the crater. Then, we will drive back to Arusha.

Evening (around 5:00 - 6:00 PM): Your guide will drop you off at your hotel in Arusha or at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your flight home or to your next place. You will have so many wonderful memories of your 3-day Tanzania private safari!

  • June - October (Dry Time): The weather is nice. It is easier to see animals because plants are not too thick. Animals gather near water. The Great Migration river crossings in Serengeti often happen in June/July and September/October.
  • November - May (Wet Time): The land is very green. Baby animals are often born from January to March. There are not too many other tourists. It might rain a little (November-December) or more (April-May).
• What to Pack: Bring light, comfortable clothes. Also bring warm clothes for early mornings and evenings because it can be cool. Do not forget a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, a good camera, and binoculars! (We can give you a full packing list if you like).
